With the 58th pick in the 2009 NBA draft the Boston Celtics selected Hudson as their lone pick of the night.
Hudson, a two-time All American and two time OVC player of the year is the first Skyhawk to be selected in the NBA draft in the program's history.
It has been a long hard road for Hudson, beginning with his days at Central High School in Memphis to getting drafted by the Celtics.
But the Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge was not concerned with anything that happened prior to Hudson's career at UTM.
"He's a tough kid, but I don't really care about those kinds of things, Ainge said in an interview with the Boston Globe. "I just see what I see on the court and just how hard he competes. He instigates physical play with the ball in his hands. We think he's got a good chance."
During his two years here at UTM Hudson set plenty of milestones.
His is only two points behind Mike Meschede(a four year player) for most points in school history.
He helped the Skyhawks to its first-ever postseason appearance this season as the team competed in the NIT.
He is the first person in Division-I history to record a quadruple-double. (25 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, and 10 steals)
"I'm blessed," Hudson said. "I'm going to go out and work hard. This is the best spot for me and it's a great opportunity to make the team."
